Daphne Harrington
was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She still considers Tulsa her
hometown and she travels
there frequently to visit her family. Daphne and her husband, Charles,
have lived in several
locations in the U.S., including
both coasts (Palo Alto, California and New
York City), Louisiana,
Dallas, TX, and Branson, MO. In 2003, Charles and Daphne retired to Bella
Vista, AR, where Charles is now enjoying being a full-time artist. His
first book was published in 2005 by North Light Books. The title of Charles'
book is: Acrylics: The Watercolor Alternative.
Daphne enjoys writing as well as volunteering for Faith in Action, where
she works with the elderly. She has enjoyed writing Christian material
for several years and her devotionals were published regularly for three
years by Daily Wisdom, which was sponsored by Gospel Communications Network.
Daphne attended Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Foothills Jr.
College in Los Altos, California, and Louisiana Tech University. She is
a graduate of the
Dale Carnegie Human
Relations and Public Speaking Course where she later served
as a graduate assistant.
After receiving
a diploma from Tulsa's Charm, Inc. Modeling
School, Daphne worked as a professional model in Tulsa
and the surrounding vicinity. She made many television commercials and
photo ads while also doing
fashion and showroom modeling over a period of ten years. She
was also the Regional Dodge Girl for a national
advertising agency in the six-state region surrounding
Oklahoma.
Although
she was raised in church, she later followed a path that led her away
from God. Many circumstances and experiences led
to Daphne's conversion in 1976 when she gave her heart and her life to
Jesus Christ, who is now her first love. These experiences, past
and present, continue to lead her to an ever deepening relationship with
God. They provide a rich background from which Daphne draws in her
writing. Her passion now is to share with others how knowing and walking
with Christ can change our lives and redirect us when our life's paths
are heading in the wrong direction and bringing us pain.
Daphne is a conscientious
disciple who writes not just from
her mind, but from her heart, life experience, and most importantly, by
the Spirit. You may write to her at this email address: daphne@daphneharrington.com
I hope you enjoy this
